The Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association (IMLA) represents the views and interests of UK mortgage lenders involved in the generation of mortgage business via professional financial intermediaries.
IMLA works with and on behalf of mainstream and specialist intermediary-facing mortgage lenders to foster greater understanding between lenders and brokers, influence government and regulatory policy and share knowledge and expertise for the betterment of our industry. To that end they regularly meet with the Financial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulatory Authority, Bank of England, Treasury and other government departments.
They also work closely with our fellow trade associations — the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries, the Building Societies Association and UK Finance — to address market challenges, promote the best regulatory outcomes and evolve the lender/broker relationship.
